Wolvercote Primary School needs new Community Governors

Could you use your skills and life experience to help local children get the best possible start to their education?

Wolvercote Primary School is looking for at least two new Community Governors. They will work with the head teacher, teaching and support staff, other governors, and PTA, to ensure that the school continues to offer its pupils an excellent education based on kindness, respect, responsibility, and active learning. They will also help to develop new ideas and initiatives.

We're keen to hear from people who have experience of working with children with Special Needs and Disabilities, fundraising from institutions, or in data analysis, but also welcome enquiries from anyone who is interested in the role.

The school currently has 339 pupils, aged from 3 to 11. It is diverse, multicultural, and inclusive. 17% of children are on the Special Needs Register and 13% are eligible for free school meals.

It is a member of the River Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust which comprises 19 local primary and 9 local secondary schools, and provides teacher training.

We are looking for someone who can commit to attending 5 Full Governing Body meetings a year which run from 5:30 - 7:30 on Thursdays and 5 committee meetings a year which run from 5:30-7:30 on Wednesdays.
